This holiday season, Kirkpatrick Group has donated to eight food banks that serve the communities where our team lives and works. We have contributed $5,500 to organizations dedicated to combating food insecurity and providing services, education and support to individuals, families and senior citizens. These organizations provide thousands of meals every day to people in need throughout West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Massachusetts and Texas.
412 Food Rescue in Pittsburgh, PA – $1,000
412 Food Rescue collects surplus food throughout Pittsburgh and southwest Pennsylvania, reducing the amount of food waste going to landfills and enabling shelters and other family support centers to redirects it to those experiencing food insecurity.
South Hills Interfaith Movement in Bethel Park, PA – $1,000
South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM) operates three food pantries and provides clothing, youth programs, parenting classes, community gardens and more to people in the South Hills.
Facing Hunger Foodbank in Huntington, WV – $500
Facing Hunger Foodbank provides nutritious food through local soup kitchens, family crisis centers and shelters and also supports children’s programs, medically indicated food boxes for people diagnosed with chronic diseases, local farm boxes and more.
Mid-Ohio Food Collective in Columbus, OH – $500
The Mid-Ohio Food Collective supports hunger relief through food distribution, urban farming, nutrition education and community programs, including a kids’ cafe, community meals and free markets.
Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C. – $1,000
The Capital Area Food Bank distributes food to people across Maryland and Virginia and also partners with organizations that deliver health care, job training and other services.
Arlington Food Assistance Center in Arlington, VA – $500
The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) offers free supplemental groceries across 21 sites to mothers and babies, senior citizens, people with disabilities and other people throughout Arlington County.
Greater Boston Food Bank in Boston, MA – $500
The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) collects and distributes food through its network of more than 600 partners in Eastern Massachusetts, including mobile markets, food pantries, soup kitchens and senior centers.
Houston Food Bank in Houston, TX – $500
The Houston Food Bank serves southeast Texas with food and other essentials while connecting people in need with supportive programs including nutrition education and health management.
Since 2018, we have donated to organizations that support the wellbeing of children and families. At Kirkpatrick Group, we believe that giving back locally is important for individual wellbeing and community growth. Supporting food banks and community partners helps make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing hunger today and aids the development of long-term solutions for reducing food insecurity.
