About The Author

Katie Regan is the founder and CEO of Kirkpatrick Group, a strategic and integrated communications firm. Her path to entrepreneurship began as a side hustle to her corporate gig when she founded her company after she graduated from Robert Morris University. The demand for her writing, strategy, counsel and communications expertise steadily increased until she decided to run the business full time and leave her corporate job in early 2018.

Today, she and her fully remote team primarily support B2B clients in manufacturing, industrial, R&D, health care and education. One hundred percent of new business is generated through intentional networking and referrals.

Why hear it from us when you can hear it from them?

What a gem this book is for those who are learning to network successfully. Grab a cup of coffee, sit down, and open the book. From page one, you’ll experience a personal one-on-one networking meeting with the author herself. She’ll share advice, ask you questions, and let you know what to do next. A perfect gift for your graduating child, niece or nephew, an intern, or someone you are mentoring.

Full of ah-ha moments. The way this book has shifted my mindset has been invaluable. As someone who started their business journey just a year ago, entrepreneurship can feel incredibly overwhelming at times. One thing I seriously underestimated was how much genuine connections and relationships can transform your business and open doors you never expected.

Your network isn’t your LinkedIn connections. This is fun read that subtracts the “work” part of networking. For a young person right out of school it’s essential reading. For an entrepreneur, it should be you first read. Heck, if you are just looking to change things up in your career, this book shows you how to take what you have and activate it.

It’s super straightforward and gives clear examples – sample schedules, tips to help remember what to do – plus honest anecdotes that bring the advice to life. The book also covers different personality types, aligning the tips with people’s respective traits, for example: how to network if you come on too strong vs. if you’re an introvert.
